Eric Dier clashes with Tottenham fans in stands after FA Cup defeat to Norwich.
England international Eric Dier was involved in an altercation with Spurs supporters in the stands of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium minutes after the club were knocked out of the FA Cup by Norwich City on Wednesday night.
The midfielder jumped over the advertising boards and ran up the stairs to confront a group of fans as the Canaries knocked Spurs out in a penalty shootout after the last-16 tie went to penalties.
Dier is clearly seen wrestling with a number of supporters before being restrained by a mixture of the stadium stewards and other fans.

Norwich progressed to the quarter-finals after Tim Krul saved from Gedson Fernandes’ spot kick and fans near to the confrontation initially alleged that it started after racial abuse was aimed at the Portuguese midfielder.
But Jose Mourinho confirmed afterwards that it started because a member of Dier’s family was ‘insulted’.
‘I think Eric Dier did what we as professionals cannot do but when someone insults you and your family is involved, especially your young brother,’ said Mourinho.
‘This person insulted Eric, the younger brother was not happy with the situation and Eric was not happy. We as professionals cannot do what he did’
Dier has come in for fierce criticism from supporters in the last 18 months after initially losing his place under Mauricio Pochettino.
Jose Mourinho’s arrival was seen as a positive for the England ace as the former Manchester United boss had tried to sign him during his time at Old Trafford.
However, his fortunes have barely improved and tonight’s incident highlights the discord between the player and supporters.
