Tecno and Infinix solved a simple problem that not even Samsung has made… and no one noticed
Tecno and Infinix has surprised with a simple feature that large OEMs have thought impossible to achieve. A boundary that no one noticed was broken by these companies when Tecno introduced the Tecno Phantom 9… Dual Flashlights on a water-drop notch smartphone. Other smartphones like that of the Infinix Note 8, Tecno Pop 3 Plus managed to come with a single front LED flashlight.
A lot of tech gurus have criticized the all screen display technologies for removing the front flashlight. Some OEMs, including Vivo has opted to include the flashlight on the retractable front camera. Other companies simply use the screen as a source of light,… The result is not always good, especially for bad displays.
The front flashlight is very important for low light selfies, especially if the smartphone is only a mid-ranger, as mid-range smartphones and below do not have very impressive camera performance, mostly at the front because they do not make use of flagship camera hardware like the Samsung Galaxy S20 or the iPhone 11 Pro. A smartphone that could have amazed people more with its selfie camera was the Samsung Galaxy A10, one of Samsung’s cheapest modern smartphones. The photo quality of the selfie was not so good, especially in low light. If it had the flashlight on top of its water-drop notch display, things could have been better.
This is a feat that I think is a right move made by these companies for their phone’s photography especially for the price-performance factor it has to maintain.
